Aiding and abetting
Aiding and abetting is intentional assistance to another’s offence, punishable even though the helper does not control the crime.
Aiding and abetting in Swiss criminal law means intentionally facilitating another person’s intentional offence through physical or psychological assistance. The contribution need not be indispensable, but it must promote the offence in a relevant way. The aider lacks the controlling role of a principal offender and is therefore punished as an accessory, typically with mitigation compared with the main offence. Assistance after the offence is complete is not aiding unless it was promised in advance or forms part of the criminal plan.
