Competition law
Competition law prohibits anti-competitive agreements, abuses of market power, and certain concentrations that harm effective competition.
Swiss competition law addresses cartels, restrictive agreements, abuse by dominant or relatively powerful undertakings, and merger control. It aims to preserve effective competition, protect market access, and deter conduct such as price fixing, market allocation, bid rigging, and unjustified refusals or discrimination. The Competition Commission investigates and may impose sanctions or conditions. Swiss rules often interact with EU competition law in cross-border markets, but remain an autonomous legal regime with its own procedures and thresholds.
