Asylum application
In Switzerland, an asylum application may be submitted at designated places such as a federal asylum centre, a border point, or in certain airport procedures. The State Secretariat for Migration examines whether Switzerland is responsible, including under Dublin rules, and whether the applicant meets the refugee definition or requires another form of protection. The procedure includes registration, identity and route clarification, hearings, and access to legal advice in federal centres. Outcomes may include asylum, temporary admission, non-consideration, rejection, or removal, subject to appeal rules.
