Beneficial owner

The beneficial owner concept looks beyond formal title to identify the natural person who ultimately controls or benefits from a company, trust-like structure, account, or asset. In Switzerland it is central to anti-money-laundering duties, corporate transparency, tax cooperation, and sanctions compliance. Determination may involve ownership thresholds, control rights, voting influence, or other means of exercising decisive influence. Where no individual can be identified by ownership or control, rules often require identifying senior management or equivalent persons.
