Commercial register
In Switzerland, the commercial register is maintained at cantonal level with federal oversight and public access. It records legally relevant information such as company name, legal form, registered office, purpose, share capital where applicable, governing bodies, and signing authority. Entries create transparency for business dealings and may have constitutive or declaratory effect depending on the matter. Extracts are commonly used for contracting, banking, compliance, litigation, and verifying who may bind an enterprise.
