Metaverse governance

Metaverse governance covers legal and organisational rules for persistent virtual worlds, augmented reality spaces and immersive platforms. Issues include user identity, avatars, virtual property, payments, NFTs, consumer protection, advertising, content moderation, harassment, child safety, data protection and biometric or behavioural tracking. Swiss relevance arises for platform providers, brands, financial services, gaming, employment training and public-sector experiments. Because participants and infrastructure are cross-border, terms of service, applicable law, dispute resolution, IP licensing, cybersecurity and moderation procedures are central governance tools.
