Normal employment contract
A normal employment contract is a regulatory instrument setting standard minimum terms for certain employment sectors or jobs.
In Switzerland, a normal employment contract is not an individual contract but a set of standard employment conditions issued by public authority for specific sectors or occupations. It may regulate matters such as working time, holidays, notice periods, and minimum wages where permitted. Some provisions apply unless the parties agree otherwise; others can be mandatory, especially where used to combat wage dumping. Normal employment contracts are important in sectors with limited collective bargaining coverage or vulnerable workers.
