Reconsideration
A request to the same administrative authority to revisit its decision, typically without replacing available appeal remedies.
In Swiss administrative practice, reconsideration asks the issuing authority to reopen or reassess a decision, often because new facts, a clear error, or changed circumstances are invoked. It is distinct from an appeal to a higher authority or court and usually does not automatically suspend or extend appeal time limits. Authorities may be obliged to reconsider in limited circumstances, especially where important new elements arise or maintaining the decision would be manifestly untenable.
