I am pleased to welcome the President of the Senate of Nigeria, Mr. Anyim Pius Anyim, on the gallery. He is here on an official visit in return for a visit the former President of our Chamber, Mr. Anton Cottier, paid last year to Nigeria. An independent State since 1960, Nigeria has the largest population of all African States. Like Switzerland, Nigeria is a federal State with an upper and a lower chamber. Mr. Anyim is the President of the upper chamber. We express our best wishes for Nigeria. We wish your country a prosperous development and a democratic future. Thank you for coming. (Applause)
