Censorship

State or private suppression, restriction or prior control of expression, media, art, performances or digital content.

Censorship refers to preventing, restricting, editing, or sanctioning expression before or after publication. In entertainment and media it may affect films, broadcasts, performances, books, games, advertising, online platforms, and public events. Swiss law protects freedom of expression and the media, but limits may arise to protect youth, personality rights, public order, criminal law interests, confidentiality, intellectual property, or anti-discrimination concerns. Private moderation by platforms, sponsors, venues, or broadcasters is usually contractual, yet it may raise transparency, competition, labour, or consumer-law issues.
