Competition law (EU)

EU competition law protects the internal market by targeting agreements that restrict competition, abuse of dominant positions, and concentrations that significantly impede effective competition. It also controls certain State aid. Although Switzerland is not an EU Member State, Swiss undertakings may fall within EU enforcement where their conduct affects trade or competition in the EU. Swiss competition law follows its own rules, but businesses often assess EU and Swiss regimes in parallel, especially for distribution systems, licensing, mergers and cross-border investigations.
