Ordinary termination
Ordinary termination ends a tenancy by observing the contractual or statutory notice period and formal requirements.
In Swiss tenancy law, ordinary termination is the normal way to end an open-ended lease. The party giving notice must respect the agreed or statutory notice period and termination date. For residential and business premises, landlords must generally use the approved official form, while tenants should give clear written notice. Even a formally valid notice may be challenged if it is abusive or causes hardship justifying an extension of the lease.
