Privacy notice
A privacy notice is the main transparency tool in data protection compliance. In Switzerland, it should explain the controller’s identity, purposes of processing, categories of recipients and, where relevant, cross-border disclosures and safeguards. Depending on the context, it may also describe retention, rights of data subjects, contact points, automated decisions or sources of data. The notice must be understandable and accessible before or at the time of collection where possible. It does not replace the need for lawful and proportionate processing.
