Recall obligations

Swiss product safety rules require manufacturers, importers, and distributors to monitor risks and take appropriate measures when a product may endanger health or safety. Depending on the risk, action may include warnings, withdrawal from distribution, recall from consumers, cooperation with authorities, and notification duties. Obligations vary by product sector, such as food, medicines, vehicles, machinery, or consumer goods. A recall is not only a reputational measure; it is part of risk management, regulatory compliance, and potential civil liability prevention.
