Visa
A visa confirms that, before travel, a person met entry conditions for a stated purpose such as tourism, business, study, family visit or transit. For Switzerland, short-stay visas are closely linked to the Schengen system, while longer stays usually require national authorization and may lead to a residence permit. A visa does not guarantee admission at the border if conditions are no longer met. Refusals often concern purpose, financial means, insurance, return intention, security concerns or incomplete documentation.
